Hubbard goes AU/VST...
As you probably all know, QuadraSID is a VST/AU plugin from ReFX that emulates four SID chips.
It included a 128 preset soundbank designed by Chris Hülsbeck and now the exciting news is that Rob Hubbard contributed designing his classic soundbank on the QuadraSID...hmm.. getting serious even if its emulated... listen to this mp3 example of the Rob Hubbard sounds and decide yourself...
The QuadraSID:
Four SID-chips emulated
Filter, volume and pan per oscillator
Arpeggiator per oscillator
One wavetable per oscillator
Four LFOs per oscillator
Four envelopes per oscillator
Eight combiners per oscillator

This doesn't sound like a sid. It doesn't even sound like a bad emulation. It sounds like something else. It's all marketing hype ;) I must say that this praticular vsti is capable of pretty good sounds, but this example doesn't fool anyone.

wouldn't this be more a Simulation than a Emulation, because it sounds similar but not quite like the real one. but ey.. if Rob is with them.. say no more ;)
