A boy and his SID...
Again from Germany, one of the places where 8bit-music is truly a vibrant scene, comes Julian Schmidt also known as a boy and his SID.One of his tracks was released last week in the 7" Schubfladen #1 compilation through the Musikfladen label together with other fine micromusicians such as firestARTer, Naomi Sample & The Go Go Ghosts and Mr.Tingle.
Remember that there are only 300 copies available of this 7" vinyl... here is a review (in German)
Along with this project he is busy with some other nice music and DIY projects, and if I understood right, he coded amongst other things a minipong for the Midibox hardware completely using MIDI CCs, that allows 2 players to play pong with the Midibox screen, it is also totally controlled via the Midibox buttons...Gosub

Hey question to editor:
Do you know which models of C64 have the 8580R5 chip? I have a C64C and it has a 6581R4... do other C64C's have an 8580R5?
thanks!
